"It feels like every summer, a part of my life is decided by a phone call that I'm not even a part of," she stated.

As speculation mounts about Laine's next team, his wife's experience of uprooting her life has taken center stage. Leigh Laine explained the constant cycle of moving to new cities, adapting to new environments, finding new friends, and establishing new routines. This uncertainty is particularly difficult for her, as she prefers planning and structure. "The anxiety is very specific in nature. I'm not worried that something bad will happen. Rather, I am afraid of the prevailing uncertainty and feel that my life has stopped," she shared.

Leigh Laine, who has been through similar transitions, including Laine's trade from the Columbus Blue Jackets to the Montreal Canadiens, has developed strategies for managing these periods of instability. She shared four methods for coping with uncertainty, emphasizing the importance of support networks and finding personal "anchors" in life. "Even filming this video is really good for me because it allows me to focus on something and feel productive," she added, highlighting how engaging in personal projects helps her maintain a sense of normalcy and purpose.

Patrik Laine has been in the NHL since the 2016-17 season. Last season, he suffered an early injury and, upon recovery, did not secure a regular spot in Montreal's lineup, playing only five games. Patrik Laine and Jordan Leigh Laine announced their engagement in the summer of 2024 and married in June 2025.
