PDP South-West faction denies endorsing Makinde, calls Fayose condemnation claims false

The internal wrangling within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) continues to deepen, with the South-West zone now refuting claims of endorsing Governor Seyi Makinde's administration and the National Working Committee led by Tanimu Turaki.

This latest statement, issued by PDP South-West Zonal Publicity Secretary Akinloye Oyeniyi, directly contradicts earlier reports that the zone had condemned former Ekiti State Governor Ayodele Fayose. Oyeniyi dismissed these reports as "false and misleading," attributing them to "organised impostors" who do not represent the party.

The PDP has been embroiled in a protracted internal crisis, characterized by deep factional divisions. One faction, led by Turaki, receives support from Governor Makinde and Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State. In opposition, the Abdulrahman Mohammed-led faction is backed by figures such as the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, and Fayose.

Both factions have resorted to legal battles, with numerous court cases pending to determine the rightful leadership and control of the party. The ongoing public exchanges between Fayose and Makinde in the South-West further exacerbate the regional tensions, highlighting the deep-seated divisions within the party's structure.

These are the ones whose agenda was to destabilise the party, but they failed. Looking at them, one could see that their group is now a psychiatric ward with no staff. Destabilising elements always end up as wanderers. Karma never forgets, and wickedness by default carries consequences too.
