Penghu County Honors 20 Exemplary Fathers for Dedication

Penghu County celebrated its exemplary fathers at an awards ceremony, honoring 20 individuals for their profound contributions to their families and communities. Surrounded by their families, the fathers received accolades for their years of hard work in raising children, their selfless dedication to their families, and their active service to the community.

The event, which commenced with a musical performance by the Longmen Elementary School's string ensemble, aimed to express the highest respect and affirmation for these fathers. Deputy Magistrate Lin Chieh-hsing remarked that paternal love is often understated yet steadfast, comparing it to a desert rose, beautiful and resilient. He noted that fathers often provide quiet support from behind the scenes, serving as the solid foundation for their families and a stabilizing force in society.

Magistrate Chen Yu-jen emphasized that the life stories and struggles of each award recipient serve as valuable examples for younger generations. He urged attendees to practice filial piety promptly, cherishing the time with their parents and avoiding future regret. The honorees ranged in age from 88-year-old Weng Miao-yi to 64-year-old Chen Ming-hsien, representing a diverse group of dedicated paternal figures.

The Penghu County government affirmed its commitment to prioritizing family and elder welfare, vowing to continuously improve care policies to provide robust support for all families within the county. The ceremony underscored the enduring significance of fathers in shaping both individual lives and the broader social fabric.
