Penghu Sustainable Map selects 12 businesses for its first round

The Penghu National Scenic Area Administration has announced the results of its "Penghu Sustainable Map" selection for the first period of the year, identifying 12 local businesses that meet its sustainability criteria. These selected establishments span various sectors, including hotels, guesthouses, restaurants, specialty food shops, and water recreation providers.

With the addition of these new businesses, the total number of partner establishments on the "Penghu Sustainable Map" has reached 42. The administration is encouraging more local tourism partners to join the initiative, with the selection process for the second period opening on July 1.

The program incentivizes businesses to implement eco-friendly practices such as energy conservation, carbon reduction, and the integration of local culture and ecological features into their operations. Selected businesses will receive enhanced marketing and promotion on the Penghu National Scenic Area Administration's official website.

Furthermore, the top 10 businesses based on their "Sustainable Coin" exchange performance between May 1 and November 1 will be featured in joint travel promotions with Lion Travel, a major travel agency. This offers a significant opportunity to increase brand visibility through established distribution channels. Businesses that are approved earlier have a longer period to accumulate "Sustainable Coins."

The administration hopes the "Penghu Sustainable Map" will guide visitors in discovering local sustainable businesses and encourage support for green operations through their spending. The "Sustainable Coin" activity runs until November 1, allowing the public to earn coins by completing specific sustainable tasks and redeem them for exclusive discounts and gifts across dining, accommodation, activities, and shopping, highlighting Penghu's unique island sustainability.
