Perlis archers excel, Nur Qaireen creates sensation at MSSM 2026

Perlis archer Nur Qaireen Umairah Norazlizal has sensationally clinched six gold medals at the 2026 Malaysian School Sports Council (MSSM) championship, solidifying her status as the best female archer of the event. The student from Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan (SMK) Derma showcased exceptional skill and determination throughout the competition.

Nur Qaireen's remarkable achievement also played a crucial role in the overall success of the Perlis archery team. Partnering with Umair Kholid, she secured the championship title in the under-18 mixed team event, triumphing over strong contenders from the Johor School Sports Council.

Her outstanding performance has earned her a spot on the national team. Nur Qaireen has been selected to represent Malaysia in the under-18 category at the upcoming Singapore Archery Youth Championship 2026, scheduled to take place from July 3 to 5.

Despite facing various challenges, including past injuries, Nur Qaireen remained focused and demonstrated her potential as one of the nation's top archery prospects. "I am very grateful for this achievement. I had to overcome many challenges, including injuries, but I did not want to make them an excuse to give up," she stated, highlighting her resilience and dedication.
