Persib Bandung reaches Piala Presiden final, acknowledges player fatigue

Persib Bandung has advanced to the Piala Presiden final, overcoming their archrivals Persija Jakarta with a 2-1 victory. Midfielder Luciano Guaycochea expressed gratitude for the achievement, describing the path to the final as arduous. The decisive goals for Persib were scored by Uilliam Barros and Balsa Sekulic. Despite the elation, Guaycochea emphasized the team's immediate priority: physical recovery. He hopes all squad members are healthy and prepared for the championship match. "We have to see how everyone's condition is. I hope everyone is healthy. We will try to give our best performance in the final and of course, we are happy to be in the final," Guaycochea stated, according to the club's official website. Reflecting on the match against Persija, the former Perak FC player felt Persib controlled the first half but found adapting to the field and weather conditions challenging. He admitted that the players' energy was significantly depleted in the second half, a consequence of the compressed match schedule. "If you all ask the people in the locker room, I don't know how we will play the final because we are extremely tired," Guaycochea confessed. Persib Bandung is set to face Persebaya Surabaya in the final at Stadion Kapten I Wayan Dipta in Gianyar, Bali, on Thursday, August 6. The organizers have decided to hold this prestigious final without a live audience for security reasons.
