Persija Jakarta is set to strengthen its squad with the addition of one more foreign player, head coach Shin Tae-yong confirmed. This decision comes on the heels of a commanding 4-0 friendly match victory over Australian side Brisbane Roar at the Jakarta International Stadium.

Fabio Calonego is the only foreign player retained from the previous season.
