Pertamina and Pelita Air elevate UMKM products through in-flight shopping

PT Pertamina (Persero) and PT Pelita Air Service have partnered to launch the PAS Sky Shop program, offering a unique shopping experience aboard Pelita Air flights. This initiative provides a platform for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (UMKM) to showcase and market their products to thousands of passengers at altitudes exceeding 35,000 feet. Through PAS Sky Shop, travelers can now discover and purchase a variety of curated local products created by UMKM during their flights. Arya Dwi Paramita, Corporate Secretary of PT Pertamina (Persero), highlighted the crucial role of UMKM in Indonesia's economy, describing them as pillars of grassroots economic development that create jobs and improve community welfare. "As a state-owned enterprise, Pertamina is committed to nurturing and empowering UMKM as part of its Corporate Social and Environmental Responsibility (TJSL) implementation," Arya stated during the MoU signing between Pertamina and Pelita Air Service. He added that Pertamina supports the government's goal of creating quality jobs and developing entrepreneurship. The collaboration aims to provide an ecosystem that supports UMKM participation in corporate business processes, fostering the growth of the creative industry and infrastructure development. "Pertamina hopes to help local entrepreneurs become more competitive and grow sustainably into resilient, independent, and creative entrepreneurs," Arya added. Faik Fahmi, President Director of PT Pelita Air Service, echoed this sentiment, stating the initiative stems from a genuine passion for Indonesian products. He believes the synergy between Pelita Air and Pertamina effectively connects UMKM development with market access, allowing business growth and national economic empowerment to progress together. "We believe that when flight services can create added economic value while opening opportunities for UMKM to continue growing, connectivity not only links regions but also drives the nation's economy," Faik explained.
