Pertamina EP Jambi finds pipeline leak on Trans-Sumatra highway

PT Pertamina EP Jambi has identified a leak in a main pipeline (trunkline) located on Jalan Surya Darma Km 9, Kenali Asam Village, Jambi City. The discovery followed initial reports of oil in a local drainage channel on Monday.

Field Manager Kurniawan Triyo Widodo stated that technical teams were immediately dispatched. They confirmed a leak on the trunkline carrying oil from MGS KAS to MOS Tempino, near the Pal 10 Public Health Center on the Trans-Sumatra highway. Evidence suggests the damage may have been caused by unknown parties, and an investigation is underway with relevant agencies.

Based on initial findings, a leak was discovered at one point on the trunkline that carries production from MGS KAS to MOS Tempino, specifically in the area around Puskesmas Pal 10, Jambi City, or on the Trans-Sumatra highway.

Technicians have stopped the leak by applying a repair clamp, controlling the oil flow. Monitoring of the pipeline's condition continues. Pertamina EP is also removing spilled oil and cleaning the affected drainage to minimize environmental impact. The company assures that there have been no reports of casualties or direct effects on nearby homes.
