Pertamina Patra Niaga Builds Learning Ecosystem for Coastal Children

PT Pertamina Patra Niaga is actively bolstering its commitment to community education through a series of initiatives designed to benefit children within its operational zones. These programs aim to enhance educational access, foster strong character development, and improve the overall quality of learning environments for young Indonesians.

According to VP Corporate Communication Kitty Andhora, the company's Community Involvement and Development (CID) efforts in education are a strategic pillar. "Pertamina Patra Niaga is committed to supporting education and building character and environmental awareness so that its presence provides real benefits for the community and the younger generation," Andhora stated in a press release on Saturday. She views investment in education as crucial for cultivating a more qualified future workforce.

One flagship program is the "Rumah Anak Pesisir" (RASI), or Coastal Child House, developed by Pertamina Patra Niaga Regional Sulawesi. Operating out of the Integrated Terminal Bitung in North Sulawesi, this non-formal education initiative tailors its learning methods to the unique context of coastal communities. The program seeks to help children recognize their potential while simultaneously nurturing their environmental consciousness. Since its inception in 2023, RASI has directly and indirectly benefited over 145 children in the Candi Settlement area of Bitung City.

In Cilacap, Central Java, Pertamina Patra Niaga's Fuel Terminal Cilacap, through its "Relawan Pertamina Peduli" (Pertamina Cares Volunteers), has launched the "Tanam Energi Barokah" (TEBAR) 4.0 program. This initiative provided over Rp10 million in educational aid to SD Negeri Bojong 03, including essential supplies like whiteboards, a printer, trash bins, and school stationery kits to support the teaching and learning process. These contributions were funded by donations from Pertamina employees and their families.
