Peru Offers Same-Day Passports Without Appointments in Lima and Callao

Citizens in Peru can now obtain their electronic passports on the same day without needing a prior appointment, thanks to a new measure implemented by the National Migration Superintendency. This initiative, active for over a month, applies to offices in Lima and Callao and has significantly eased the process for obtaining the travel document.

Juan Ramiro Alvarado Gómez, head of Migrations, reported that the new system has helped alleviate the high demand experienced earlier in the year. Currently, the offices handle approximately 1,500 electronic passport applications daily, with some locations having capacity for more users. This streamlined process allows for immediate issuance upon meeting the requirements.

To utilize this same-day service, applicants must present proof of payment for the S/120.90 fee, which can be made at Banco de la Nación or online via Págalo.pe using code 01810. A valid national identity document (DNI) is also mandatory. Several Migrations offices in Lima and Callao are offering this service, including the central office in Breña and MAC centers in Lima Norte, Lima Este, and Lima Sur, operating on weekdays and Saturday mornings.
