Perussuomalaiset (Finns Party) addressed Peltokangas's writing without mentioning Peltokangas

The Finns Party parliamentary group has finished addressing Mauri Peltokangas's controversial social media post, according to group chair Jani Mäkelä. He stated that the party discussed the matter at its summer meeting in Imatra but did not name any individuals during the conversation.

I believe that the matter, as a matter, was discussed quite clearly among our own people.

Mäkelä explained that his opening speech at the meeting advised that while the party is direct in its communication, it is better to focus on the subject matter rather than the phrasing. The issue was then discussed more broadly within the group. Mäkelä believes the discussion made it clear to everyone, on a general level, the importance of focusing on issues and avoiding giving political opponents ammunition.

The Finns Party determines for itself what discussions it holds. I see it this way, that it is important to talk about the phenomenon and, in a way, the method of operation, instead of focusing on individual cases.

He added that both he and party leader Riikka Purra shared the same view. However, no specific post or person was discussed in detail. Mäkelä reiterated that the party determines its own discussion topics and that he views it as important to discuss the phenomenon and the method of communication rather than focusing on isolated incidents.

No sanctions were issued to Peltokangas for his writing. Jukka Kopra, chairman of the National Coalition Party's parliamentary group, commented that how another parliamentary group conducts its internal discussions is its own responsibility. He stated that the National Coalition Party focuses on its own actions.
