Obi contends that the president is increasingly governing through spokespersons and aides, severing a vital connection between the presidency and the Nigerian people.

"The person voted for in this country is Bola Tinubu," Obi stated in a recent interview. "He’s no longer talking to us; he’s gone into Aso Rock and turned it into a bunker." The former Anambra governor believes this overreliance on intermediaries reflects a significant disconnect from the immediate concerns of Nigerians, especially as the country grapples with deep socio-economic crises and insecurity.
