Photo: U.S. president’s eldest son arrives in Tallinn

Donald Trump Jr. arrived in Tallinn early Sunday, then left a hotel through a rear entrance under heavy security as efforts were made to keep him away from the media.

A Delfi photographer reported that Trump Jr. departed the Radisson Collection hotel around midday. Security staff and vehicles shielded the American businessman from view before he headed toward the highway leading to Tartu.

His movements in Estonia, as well as his identity, had initially been kept secret. It remains unclear why he is visiting Estonia or whether the trip is private or business-related.

A U.S. Embassy representative told Delfi that the embassy would not comment and that only the White House could address the visit. The White House press office did not answer Delfi’s call because it was early morning in the United States.

Trump Jr. landed in Estonia at about 5 a.m. Sunday aboard an aircraft operated by Qatar Executive, a Qatari private aviation company. He is an American businessman and political activist who manages the Trump Organization’s real estate portfolio, which also oversees the U.S. president’s assets.
