PHOTOS: Army dismantles illegal bunkering site in Lagos

Troops from the 65 Battalion of the Nigerian Army have successfully dismantled a suspected illegal oil bunkering site in the Orile General Area of Lagos State. The operation, conducted under the leadership of Lieutenant Colonel S. Adeojo, followed credible intelligence regarding illicit activities in the region.

During the raid, six individuals suspected of involvement in illegal bunkering were apprehended. The army also seized four trucks, a pumping machine, and various pipes and drums believed to have been used in the operations. These recovered items and the arrested suspects have been transferred to the Lagos State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps for further investigation and necessary legal proceedings.

Acting on credible intelligence, the troops raided the site and arrested six suspected oil bunkerers. The operation also led to the recovery of four trucks, one pumping machine, and assorted pipes and drums allegedly used for illegal bunkering activities.

The operation is part of the Nigerian Army's ongoing commitment to combating economic sabotage and protecting national assets. Major General Adebayo Babalola, the General Officer Commanding the 81 Division Nigerian Army, commended the troops for their successful operation and urged them to maintain their offensive against criminal activities within their area of responsibility.
