Photos: One dead as Police rescue kidnapped Ekiti CAC worshippers

In a coordinated security operation, the Ekiti State Police Command has successfully rescued worshippers who were abducted from the Christ Apostolic Church in the Eda-Oniyo community. The victims were taken during an attack on April 28, 2026, in the Ilejemeje Local Government Area.

The successful rescue followed sustained intelligence-led operations and coordinated efforts by the Nigeria Police Force, the Military, other security agencies, the Amotekun Corps, local hunters, and the Ekiti State Government.

During the rescue operation, it was tragically confirmed that one of the victims died while in the kidnappers' den. The surviving abducted individuals have been taken to a hospital for necessary medical examinations and treatment to ensure their well-being. The successful operation was the result of sustained intelligence-led efforts and collaborative actions involving the Nigeria Police Force, the Military, other security agencies, the Amotekun Corps, local hunters, and the Ekiti State Government.
