PKR's Relevance Proven by Anwar's Premiership, Says Party Official

Loh Ker Chean, the Deputy Chief of PKR's Wanita (Women's wing), stated that Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim's nearly four years as Prime Minister demonstrate the People's Justice Party's (PKR) continued relevance as a major political force. She rejected the notion that the party would diminish after Anwar's leadership, pointing to its historical strength as an effective opposition and its current position within the government.

"I reject the notion that PKR will disappear after the Anwar era, especially after Anwar led PKR to become the 10th Prime Minister," Loh stated. "PKR was once an effective and strong opposition, and today it is a strong government with Anwar, the leader of PKR, as Prime Minister. I am confident that PKR will remain a political institution for a long time."

Loh's comments were in response to remarks by Datuk Seri Rafizi Ramli, who had suggested that PKR might decline after Anwar's time. Loh countered this by highlighting PKR's track record of nurturing numerous leaders during its time in opposition and the intensified efforts to develop new leadership since becoming part of the government.

She believes that PKR's core mission and its commitment to representing the aspirations of diverse ethnic groups ensure its long-term viability in Malaysia's political landscape.
