Plane carrying one of the world’s most wanted criminals lands in Ireland

Daniel Kinahan, a notorious figure described as one of the world's most wanted criminals, has been arrested in Ireland and is expected to face trial.

Kinahan had been detained in Dubai since April, following the issuance of an arrest warrant by Ireland in connection with alleged serious organized crime offenses. The 49-year-old Irishman is suspected of heading a criminal organization implicated in large-scale drug smuggling and money laundering by U.S. and European authorities.

Local media reported that an Irish government aircraft transported Kinahan, with the flight's progress being tracked by tens of thousands of people globally, according to Sky News.

Kinahan is believed to have led the Kinahan Cartel, a powerful international crime syndicate involved in drug trafficking and money laundering. The U.S. Department of State has offered a multi-million dollar reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of key figures within the organization, including Daniel Kinahan.

His arrest marks a significant development in international efforts to dismantle transnational criminal networks.
