PT PLN (Persero) Unit Pelaksana Pelayanan Pelanggan (UP3) Situbondo in East Java has carried out a synchronized tree and vegetation trimming operation across five service units. This preventative measure is designed to secure the electricity distribution network ahead of the 81st anniversary of Indonesian Independence.

Teguh Budi Octavianto, Manager of PT PLN UP3 Situbondo, explained that the trimming, known as "rabas," focuses on areas identified as having the potential to disrupt the electricity distribution network. The operation covers ULP Panarukan, Asembagus, Wonosari, and Bondowoso.

Octavianto stated that this synchronized trimming is a proactive step by PLN to ensure the reliability of electricity supply. He noted that trees, branches, and vegetation growing too close to power lines can cause electrical disturbances, particularly during strong winds. This effort underscores PLN's commitment to providing the best service to the community.

"The spirit of independence motivates us to continue providing the best service. Through this synchronized trimming, PLN strives to minimize potential disruptions so that the electricity supply remains safe and reliable," Octavianto said. He also encouraged public participation in maintaining electricity reliability by reporting trees that might interfere with the network, advising against self-trimming for safety reasons.

PLN UP3 Situbondo emphasizes that maintaining reliable electricity involves not only equipment and network maintenance but also controlling potential hazards from the surrounding environment. The operation adheres to Occupational Safety and Health (K3) standards, ensuring that trimming is done carefully and safely. The goal is to minimize disruptions and ensure the public enjoys a secure and dependable electricity supply, especially during the upcoming Independence Day celebrations.
