PM Sharif, President Xi vow to transform historic Pakistan-China friendship 75th anniversary into new strategic cooperation

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and President Xi Jinping have committed to transforming the 75th anniversary of Pakistan-China relations into a new era of strategic, practical, and future-oriented cooperation. Their meeting in Beijing, held against the backdrop of the anniversary, emphasized the enduring strength of the All-Weather Strategic Cooperative Partnership.

The Pakistani Prime Minister also commended President Xi's leadership, drawing parallels to his tenure as Governor of Zhejiang Province. Sharif admired Xi's "bold and visionary leadership" for transforming China into a global power and acknowledged his four-point proposal for regional peace as widely appreciated.

The aim is to align China's 15th Five-Year Plan with Pakistan's "Uraan Pakistan" initiative to foster wider collaboration in industrialization, connectivity, science and technology, agriculture, clean energy, and digital transformation. The selection of Pakistani astronauts for China's space program was cited as a reflection of this growing strength.
