PM stresses swift rollout of Decent Life phase II, building on first-phase lessons

Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly urged swift action on the second phase of the "Decent Life" presidential initiative, stressing the importance of incorporating lessons learned from its initial implementation. The focus is on accelerating project launches and optimizing public investments to enhance the quality and efficiency of services for citizens in Egypt's rural communities.

During a meeting on Sunday, July 12, Madbouly, alongside the Minister of Housing, Utilities and Urban Communities Randa al-Menshawy, and other officials, reviewed preparations for the initiative's second phase. This phase aims to develop Egypt’s rural villages by upgrading services across key sectors. The meeting included a review of the second phase's core elements, encompassing various development projects and a proposed timeline to ensure timely completion and service delivery.

The Prime Minister said that the meeting was part of a series of consultations to review readiness for launching the initiative’s second phase, highlighting its role in upgrading the quality and efficiency of services across key sectors in targeted rural communities.

Madbouly also highlighted the significance of increasing the use of locally manufactured components in projects. This strategy aims to bolster domestic industries and production, aligning with broader economic and development objectives. The initiative directly supports the localization of industries and domestic production linked to development and public service projects.

Officials reported that the first phase of the "Decent Life" initiative has already seen completion in 850 villages. Since June 17, an additional 55 villages have been finalized, with 159 projects completed and 176 officially handed over across different sectors. These achievements underscore the initiative's progress in improving living conditions in rural areas.

Madbouly also reiterated the importance of expanding the use of locally manufactured components in implementing the projects to support the localization of industries and domestic production linked to development and public service projects, thereby contributing to broader economic and development goals.
