PM Tarique Rahman inspects Matarbari deep-sea port, other projects

Prime Minister Tarique Rahman arrived in Matarbari, Cox's Bazar, by helicopter this morning to personally inspect the ongoing construction of the Matarbari deep-sea port and several other significant development projects in the area. His arrival at the helipad near Matarbari was at approximately 10:52 a.m.

During his visit, the prime minister is set to review the progress of the deep-sea port, a coal-fired power project, and the activities managed by the Maheshkhali Integrated Development Authority. This marks Rahman's inaugural visit to Matarbari since assuming the role of Prime Minister.

Following his engagements in Matarbari, Rahman's itinerary includes a visit to flood-affected regions in Chattogram. He is scheduled to attend a rehabilitation program in Banshkhali upazila around 12:20 p.m., where new homes will be distributed to families displaced by recent floods. The prime minister will also meet with prominent religious figures, including Hefazat-e-Islam Ameer Allama Shah Muhibullah Babunagari and pay respects at the grave of the late Allama Shah Ahmad Shafi.

The prime minister's busy schedule also includes attending a flood rehabilitation program in Hathazari and an organizational meeting with BNP leaders and activists from Chattogram in the evening. He is expected to return to Dhaka by air later tonight.
