Police arrest 30-year-old man for killing father in Adamawa

Authorities in Adamawa State, Nigeria, have arrested a 30-year-old man identified as Peter Sinamai for the alleged murder of his father. The suspect, a resident of Sangere Gombi Local Government Area, is accused of killing his father and disposing of the body in a nearby abandoned well.

The Adamawa State Police Command received a report regarding the incident, leading to Sinamai's arrest. Preliminary investigations suggest the suspect carried out the act and concealed the body. The command's spokesman, SP Suleiman Nguroje, confirmed the details of the preliminary findings.

State Commissioner of Police, Kabiru Hassan, has ordered a comprehensive investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death. The recovered corpse has been deposited at the mortuary for an autopsy. The police stated that the suspect will be charged in court once the investigation is complete.

Commissioner Hassan condemned the act and reassured the public of the command's commitment to justice and protection. He urged members of the public to seek peaceful and lawful means of resolving family disputes, advising them to seek appropriate intervention when conflicts arise. The report also noted a similar case in Anambra State where a man was sentenced to death for killing his father.
