Police Arrest Boyfriend in West Jakarta Boarding House Murder

West Jakarta police have apprehended a suspect in the murder of a woman, identified by the initial M, whose body was discovered in a boarding house room in Grogol Petamburan. The victim was found with a head wound and visible bleeding. Authorities identified the suspect as the victim's boyfriend, who goes by the initial E. He was arrested in the Cilandak area of South Jakarta just hours after the crime was reported. According to police, the suspect has been taken into custody for further legal proceedings. Investigators stated that the victim visited the suspect's boarding room early on Tuesday, July 28, 2026. An argument ensued, escalating to a physical altercation where the suspect allegedly struck the victim on the head with a hammer, causing fatal injuries. Blood from the victim reportedly dripped into the room of a resident on the floor below. The suspect, E, has been officially named a murder suspect by the police. Investigators have seized several items from the suspect, including a hammer, gloves, two mobile phones, a bag, a wallet, jewelry, and a motorcycle. The victim was last seen entering the suspect's room around 1:00 AM WIB and reportedly left two hours later, not to be seen again until neighbors discovered bloodstains on the upper floor that afternoon. Neighbors and the boarding house manager forced entry into the victim's room, where they found her deceased with head injuries. Her body was subsequently transported to the Kramat Jati Police Hospital for an autopsy to determine the extent of the trauma.
