Police Arrest Five Suspects in Cooperative Employee Assault Case

Authorities in Banten, Indonesia, have arrested five suspects in connection with the alleged kidnapping and brutal assault of a 25-year-old man identified by the initials PG. The victim was an employee at a savings and loan cooperative in Panongan District, Tangerang Regency.

According to Kombes Maruli Ahiles Hutapea, Head of Public Relations for the Banten Regional Police, the investigation revealed that the perpetrators suspected PG of intending to poach clients from the cooperative after he decided to resign and return to his hometown. This suspicion reportedly fueled the alleged "vicious act accompanied by indecency" against him.

The incident reportedly began when PG, who worked as a mobile banking agent, informed his employer of his intention to quit. EDD (24), the boss of the cooperative, allegedly became concerned that clients would be taken by PG, leading to the subsequent alleged assault and confinement. The police have conducted investigative processes and gathered statements from the suspects regarding their roles and motives in the alleged crime.
