Through swift and coordinated operations, operatives, in collaboration with the Ughelli Kingdom Vigilantes, apprehended four key suspects involved in armed robbery and motorcycle theft.

Acting on credible intelligence, operatives of the CP Special Assignment Team between 6:30 am and 9:10 am on April 20, 2026, in collaboration with members of the Ughelli Kingdom Vigilantes, carried out coordinated operations at various locations within the Ughelli metropolis, leading to the arrest of the suspects.

This operation, which took place on April 20, 2026, demonstrates the command's unwavering commitment to ensuring the safety and security of all residents. The arrest of Surajo Atar, Abba Musa, Babangida Yusuf, and Abdurasheed Shafiu, along with the recovery of incriminating items, marks a significant victory against crime in the region.

Items recovered from the suspects at the point of arrest include a cutlass and a black mask believed to have been used in perpetrating their criminal activities.

The suspects, identified as perpetrators of violent attacks and motorcycle theft, were caught with evidence linking them to their criminal activities. The subsequent interrogation led to the arrest of a receiver of stolen goods, further disrupting the syndicate's operations. The Commissioner of Police, CP Yemi Oyeniyi, has pledged to continue the investigation to bring all members of the gang to justice and recover stolen property, urging the public to remain vigilant and provide crucial information.
