Police arrest seven robbery suspects in Katsina

The Katsina State Police Command has apprehended a seven-member armed robbery syndicate believed to be responsible for a recent attack on a residence in Katsina metropolis. The suspects are accused of stealing motorcycles, mobile phones, and other valuables during the June 19 incident.

Upon receipt of the report, operatives were immediately drafted to investigate the incident. Through an intelligence-led operation, the team successfully apprehended all seven primary suspects involved in the robbery.

According to DSP Abubakar Aliyu, the Police Public Relations Officer, the robbery occurred around 2 a.m. in Unwala Quarters. The victim, identified as Surajo, reported that armed robbers wielding cutlasses and clubs entered his home and took two motorcycles and seven mobile phones. Police operatives launched an immediate investigation following the report.

Through an intelligence-led operation, police successfully arrested the seven primary suspects: Sulaiman Sabo, Muhammad Aminu, Muhammad Yahaya, Muhammad Daddy, Aliyu Kabir, Musa Kabir, and Ahmad Usman. A search of their hideouts led to the recovery of five stolen mobile phones, two power banks, two cutlasses, a pinch bar, a flashlight, and master keys believed to have been used in criminal activities.

The suspects voluntarily confessed to the commission of the offence, while investigations also revealed the identities of four other accomplices currently at large who allegedly assisted in disposing of the stolen property.

The police stated that the suspects confessed to the crime. Investigations also revealed the identities of four other accomplices who allegedly helped dispose of the stolen goods. These individuals, Dahiru Nuhu Tsoho, Ibrahim (alias Iro), Shafi’u Lawal, and Aminu C., are currently at large, and efforts are underway to apprehend them and recover the remaining stolen items. The seven arrested suspects will face charges upon the conclusion of the investigation.
