Police arrest suspected drug baron, recover stolen items in A’Ibom

The Akwa Ibom State Police Command has recorded another significant operational breakthrough in its sustained offensive against criminal elements, with the successful dismantling of a notorious drug bunk, recovery of suspected stolen property, and arrest of a suspected drug baron in Ikot Ebom Itam, Itu Local Government Area.

Acting on credible intelligence, police operatives conducted a coordinated operation in Ikot Ebom Itam, Itu Local Government Area. The target was a criminal enclave believed to be a hub for drug traffickers, receivers of stolen goods, vandals, and other criminals. During the search, suspect Ofonime Etim was apprehended.

The premises yielded a substantial recovery, including large quantities of suspected Indian hemp, rolling papers, axes, machetes, vandalized electrical wires, bundles of roofing sheets, aluminum windows, provisions, illicit gin, a submersible water pump, and various electronic and electrical appliances suspected to be stolen.
