Police Arrest Two Suspects in $9,500 Cable Theft in Cikarang

Two men were arrested by Cikarang Selatan police in Bekasi for allegedly stealing cables valued at more than Rp143 million from the Power House Pollux Cikarang facility. The suspects, identified as N and S, were apprehended by security guards in the early hours of Thursday after being discovered within the power house area.

The incident came to light when a technician performing routine checks heard suspicious noises and found cut cables placed on a panel. Security personnel were alerted and initiated a search, discovering a ladder near the boundary wall between the mall and a gas station. Initial investigations suggest the perpetrators gained entry through a generator set cooling vent.

Security officers secured the premises, trapping the suspects inside. N and S were apprehended with cut cables and various tools, including pliers, a wrench, a cutter, a screwdriver, and a voltage tester. The estimated material loss due to the theft is Rp143,760,000. Police are continuing their investigation into the suspects' specific roles, modus operandi, and any potential involvement of other individuals.
