Police Bust Drug Ring at Batam Nightclub, Arrest 32

Indonesian police have dismantled a drug trafficking ring operating within the HH Club, a nightlife venue in Batam, Riau Islands. A joint task force from the Indonesian National Police's Criminal Investigation Agency (Bareskrim Polri) conducted the operation in the early hours of Monday, August 10, 2026, arresting 32 individuals.

Brigadier General Eko Hadi Santoso, Director of Narcotics Crimes at Bareskrim Polri, stated that the operation targeted alleged drug distribution by the nightclub's management. The 32 individuals detained include both suspects and witnesses. Police also confiscated unspecified narcotics as evidence. Further details regarding the identities of those arrested and the types and quantities of drugs seized are pending the completion of ongoing investigations.

This bust in Batam is not an isolated incident. Bareskrim Polri has been actively targeting drug trafficking in entertainment venues throughout 2026. Previous operations include the uncovering of a drug trafficking case at White Rabbit in South Jakarta in March, and at N CO Living by NIX in Bali in April. In May, a raid was conducted at New Zone in Medan, North Sumatra, also on suspicion of drug distribution.

The ongoing investigations aim to curb the flow of illicit substances and hold those involved accountable. Police have indicated that more information will be released as the examination of the suspects and witnesses progresses.
