Police Complaints Authority Interviews Witnesses After Fatal Nørresundby Shooting

The incident occurred in an industrial area where a gunfight erupted between police and a 48-year-old man armed with a rifle. During the exchange, the suspect was shot by police. The DUP's investigation will focus on determining whether the police had grounds to fire upon the man. Authorities are collecting police reports, radio communications, and any available video surveillance footage as part of their inquiry. It is standard procedure for the DUP to investigate incidents where individuals are injured as a result of police intervention. The 48-year-old suspect has confessed to fatally shooting the civilian. A police officer was also injured, sustaining gunshot wounds to the leg and torso, but is reported to be in stable condition.
