Police debunk claims of four Accord Party members killed in Ilesa

The Osun State Police Command has denied allegations that four members of the Accord Party were killed in Ilesa. The Imole Campaign Council, through its spokesperson Pelumi Olajengbesi, had claimed on Facebook that the party members were murdered due to their political affiliation with Governor Ademola Adeleke.

However, Police spokesperson Abiodun Ojelabi clarified that the incident in Ilesa was related to cult activities and that only one person, identified as Olakunle Owoeye, was killed. The police stated they were unaware of any incident involving the deaths of four Accord Party members.

Meanwhile, Ijesa-South campaign council chairman Dosu Babatunde assured residents of safety during and after the election. He commended President Bola Tinubu and security agencies for ensuring adequate security in Ilesa. When questioned about killings in Ilesa, Mr. Jola Akintola indicated that the community had decided to prioritize peace for the election to proceed smoothly.
