Police hunt two suspects in robbery of elderly woman

Police in Gerik are actively searching for two men suspected of robbing an 80-year-old woman in her home in Kampung Baru Selat Pagar, Lenggong. The incident occurred early Tuesday morning when the two suspects allegedly forced their way into the victim's house.

According to Gerik District Police Chief, Superintendent Abdul Samad Othman, the suspects gained entry by prying open the door. One of the individuals then reportedly pushed and kicked the elderly woman, threatening her with an iron rod before they stole various items from the residence. The suspects fled the scene in a dark-colored car, identified by the license plate VMG 8433, which is believed to be fake.

The victim was also threatened with an iron rod. The suspects took several of the victim's belongings before fleeing the scene.

The case is being investigated under Sections 395 and 397 of the Penal Code for armed gang robbery. Police are urging anyone with information regarding the incident to come forward and assist with the investigation by contacting any nearby police station. The search for the two suspects is ongoing.
