Police investigate former MP Edwina Currie's suspected murder

British police are investigating the death of former Conservative Member of Parliament Edwina Currie, who was found deceased in her home in Heaton, Devon. Authorities believe Currie may have been murdered approximately 24 hours before her body was discovered.

A 26-year-old man was initially arrested as part of the investigation but has since been released without charge. Police are now searching for a white male suspect in connection with the case. Investigators are working under the assumption that the attack occurred around midday on Wednesday.

Currie was scheduled to appear on a Channel 5 program that same Wednesday but could not be reached before the broadcast. Specialists continue to work at the scene. Police have indicated that there are currently no signs suggesting the crime is linked to terrorism or political motives. Edwina Currie served as a Conservative MP from 1987 to 2010 and held the position of Minister of State for Prisons in John Major's government. She later served as a Member of the European Parliament for the Brexit Party, collaborated with Reform UK, and was also known as a television personality.
