Police officer kills one of four assailants in Moreno, Argentina

A police officer in Moreno, Argentina, killed one of four assailants who attempted to rob him as he walked home from work on Friday. The officer was returning from the train station when the group of hooded men confronted him, demanding his belongings.

Security cameras captured the incident, showing the officer walking calmly before being approached by the attackers. In the ensuing confrontation, the officer drew his service weapon and fired, killing one of the assailants. The other three attackers fled the scene.

Emergency medical services confirmed the assailant's death. The case is being investigated by prosecutor Martín Borgnia, who ordered the officer's weapon seized. Local media reported that no charges have been filed against the officer, as the shooting is being considered self-defense.

This incident follows a series of similar deadly encounters in Buenos Aires province. In less than 24 hours prior, four assailants were killed in separate confrontations with police. One incident involved a federal police officer who was wounded while defending a neighbor, resulting in two assailants being killed. Another occurred in City Bell, where a federal police officer on his motorcycle shot and killed a robber during an attempted mugging. Additionally, a retired federal police officer defended his wife and killed one of two robbers.
