Police raid hideouts, arrest 193 suspects in Kano

The Kano State Police Command has demonstrated its commitment to public safety through a series of successful raids targeting criminal hideouts and black spots across the state. These operations, conducted under the directives of the Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Rilwan Disu, and overseen by Commissioner of Police Ibrahim Bakori, have led to the apprehension of 193 suspects.

In furtherance of the directives of the Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Rilwan Disu, on initiating strategic surveillance and visibility patrols, raiding criminals’ hideouts and black spots, and expanding community-based engagements to ensure safety and security, the Kano State Police Command has sustained its proactive policing operations across the state.

The recovered items, including a significant cache of weapons such as cutlasses and knives, alongside illicit substances like Pregabalin and suspected Indian hemp, underscore the severity of the criminal activities being addressed. The coordinated efforts by the 11 area commanders involved highlight a strategic approach to combating crime within the state.

Under the direction of the Commissioner of Police, Kano State Command, Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, and in line with the operational strategies rolled out by the Police Command in Kano, simultaneous raids were conducted across identified black spots and criminal hideouts in the command from April 10 to 12, 2026.
