Police Recover 10 Suspected Stolen Cows, Arrest Two Suspects in Nakasongola

Police in Uganda's Nakasongola District have successfully recovered ten cows suspected of being stolen and apprehended two individuals following an intelligence-led operation. The operation targeted cattle theft in the region after police received information about a group preparing to sell stolen livestock.

Upon receiving credible intelligence that suspected stolen cattle were being prepared for sale, our officers conducted an operation that resulted in the recovery of ten cows and the arrest of two suspects. The recovered animals have been exhibited and investigations are ongoing.

The operation, conducted in Nakalikirya Village, Lwampanga Town Council, led to the recovery of the animals around 2:00 a.m. on August 6. The cows were identified as property allegedly stolen from a resident of Kiyanja LC1. The two arrested suspects have been identified as Yowasi Kulabako and Eliazar Sserwanja, who are currently in police custody.

Savannah Regional Police spokesperson ASP Sam Twiineamazima credited the success to timely information provided by the public. "Upon receiving credible intelligence that suspected stolen cattle were being prepared for sale, our officers conducted an operation that resulted in the recovery of ten cows and the arrest of two suspects," Twiineamazima stated. He confirmed that the recovered animals have been exhibited and investigations are continuing.
