Police to Deploy Forensics to Investigate Pullman Hotel Fire in West Jakarta

Authorities are launching a full investigation into the fire that broke out at the Pullman Hotel in West Jakarta, deploying a forensic team to determine the cause. The blaze, which started Saturday morning in the Tanjung Duren Selatan area, has been extinguished, but officials have yet to confirm its exact origin.

AKP Reza Aditya, the Head of the Grogol Petamburan Police, stated that the Indonesia Automatic Fingerprint Identification System (Inafis) from the West Jakarta Metro Police had already conducted an initial examination. The fire department reported receiving the call at 7:59 AM WIB and immediately dispatched units.

Seventy personnel and 14 fire engines were deployed to combat the flames, which were largely localized within a short period. The cooling process began at 8:15 AM WIB to ensure no residual heat could reignite the fire. The incident was categorized as "yellow" status, indicating an ongoing operation.
