Hotel Pullman in West Jakarta Catches Fire; Firefighters Control Blaze

A fire erupted at the Hotel Pullman in West Jakarta on Saturday morning, August 1, 2026. The blaze occurred at the hotel located on Jalan Letjen S. Parman in the Tanjung Duren Selatan sub-district.

Responding swiftly to the emergency, the West Jakarta Fire and Rescue Agency deployed 14 fire engines and 70 personnel. The agency's head, Syaiful Kahfi, confirmed that firefighters were dispatched one minute after receiving the report at 7:59 AM Western Indonesia Time.

The intensive firefighting operations began at 8:05 AM. Thanks to the rapid response, the fire was localized and prevented from spreading to other parts of the building. As of 8:15 AM, the situation was under control, and firefighters commenced a cooling process to ensure no residual hotspots remained that could reignite the fire.

The incident is currently at a "yellow status," indicating ongoing operations. Firefighters remain on site to complete the cooling process and ensure the fire is fully extinguished. The cause of the fire and the extent of material damage remain undetermined. Fortunately, there have been no reports of injuries or fatalities.
