Police Trace Stolen Iphone to Suspects in Murder of SC Villa Captain David Owori

Police have arrested two suspects in connection with the murder of Sports Club Villa captain David Owori, following the recovery of an iPhone allegedly stolen from the footballer during the fatal assault. Owori, 27, died from critical injuries sustained in the attack.

Investigators established that Owori was robbed of his iPhone 14 Pro Max during the incident. Tracking the stolen device led detectives to Munyaneza Bashir, known as 'Jemo,' identified as a suspected dealer in stolen mobile phones, and his associate, Magoba Samuel.

Following the murder of Owor David, a captain of Villa Football Club, we would like to update you on the progress of the investigation. It has been established that the deceased was robbed of an iPhone 14 Pro Max. The tracking of the stolen phone has led officers to two suspects: Munyaneza Bashir alias 'Jemo', a suspected dealer in stolen mobile phones, and his associate Magoba Samuel.

During the investigation, police recovered four bags containing a large quantity of mobile phones and other electronic devices believed to be stolen. The seized items include 80 iPhones, 40 Samsung phones, and various other brands, along with four phone motherboards, three iPads, and SIM cards. Identification documents and phone covers were also found.

The recovery of these numerous devices has expanded the scope of the investigation beyond Owori's murder. Police are now working to determine if the recovered items are linked to other reported theft and robbery cases in the region, seeking to uncover the full extent of the suspects' network.
