Polish prosecutors launch investigation into fatal bus crash in Hungary

Polish prosecutors have initiated an investigation into a tragic bus accident that occurred on Hungary's M3 highway, resulting in the deaths of Polish citizens. The incident took place overnight between Saturday and Sunday, August 15-16.

Prosecutors and police officers from Poland are actively engaged in investigative actions within Poland. Following the necessary approvals from Hungarian authorities, prosecutorial activities are also planned at the accident site in Hungary. This collaborative effort aims to fully clarify the causes and circumstances of the tragedy.

Prosecutor General Waldemar Żurek emphasized the immediate actions being taken to investigate the incident. He stated that Polish authorities are working in close cooperation with their Hungarian counterparts and consular services. The Polish embassy in Budapest has set up a dedicated hotline, +36 20 472 9502, for relatives of those affected by the bus crash.
