Political Analyst Saiful Mujani Questioned by Police Over Defamation Report

Political analyst Saiful Mujani presented himself at the Polda Metro Jaya on Thursday for questioning as a respondent in a defamation case. Mujani confirmed his readiness to cooperate with investigators from the Sub-directorate of State Security (Kamneg) of the Polda Metro Jaya's Directorate of General Criminal Investigation.

"I am ready to provide clarification as requested by the summons. Hopefully, this will lead to clarity," Mujani told reporters before entering the police headquarters. He indicated that he had not prepared physical evidence, stating that all the necessary information was contained within his memory.

Previously, Polda Metro Jaya received two separate reports against Saiful Mujani concerning alleged incitement. One report was filed by Robina Akbar, representing the Alliance of Jakarta Timur Community, and was registered on April 8, 2026. Responding to public discourse surrounding the reports, Head of Public Relations for Polda Metro Jaya, Kombes Budi Hermanto, advised against framing the matter as a political issue or a case of criminalization.
