Port Klang Free Zone Achieves Record Revenue and Container Handling

Port Klang Free Zone (PKFZ) has reported its highest-ever revenue of RM108 million, driven by a record 14.9% growth in cargo handling, with 110,467 containers processed by May.

I am very proud of the transformation achievement of PKFZ into a Smart and High-Tech Industrial Park, marking a new chapter in Malaysia's digital logistics journey.

This achievement is partly fueled by increased investment from China, which accounted for 88,070 containers, representing a 20% share and underscoring robust economic relations between Malaysia and China. Transport Minister Anthony Loke Siew Fook attributed the success to the reactivation of 86% of its commercial space, noting significant growth in revenue collection in 2025 and May compared to the previous year.

Loke expressed pride in PKFZ's transformation into a Smart and High-Tech Industrial Park, heralding a new chapter for Malaysia's digital logistics. As the nation's first free zone to integrate multiple digital systems, including a Free Zone Management System (FZMS), Automated Gate Operation System (AGOS), and Digital Port Pass, under a single platform, PKFZ is setting a new benchmark for smart logistics ecosystems.

This collaboration reflects the commitment to strengthening the relationship between talent development and industry needs by creating career opportunities for military veterans and TVET Perhebat trainees at PKFZ.

Furthermore, PKFZ has demonstrated its commitment to innovation and regional trade by adopting a Single Window ecosystem. This strategic initiative unlocks value from previously underutilized assets, generating sustainable income and fostering positive economic and social benefits for investors and the local community. The zone also signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Perbadanan Hal Ehwal Bekas Angkatan Tentera (Perhebat) to strengthen the link between talent development and industry needs, creating career opportunities for military veterans and TVET trainees.
