Posco Wide partners with military hospital to boost resource recycling and improve soldier welfare

Posco Wide, a comprehensive real estate management subsidiary of the Posco Group, has partnered with the Armed Forces Daejeon Hospital to foster a culture of resource circulation and enhance the living and working environment for military personnel. The two organizations formalized their collaboration through a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signed on August 10th at Posco Wide's headquarters in Seoul.

The agreement significantly expands Posco Wide's ongoing office furniture and supplies recycling initiative, known as 'Resource Abundance' (자원多잇다). This project, previously focused on donating items to social welfare facilities and local communities, will now extend its support to military service members. The Armed Forces Daejeon Hospital will actively participate in the project and lead efforts to promote resource circulation campaigns among adjacent military units.

Posco Wide utilizes a portion of its employees' salaries, through the Posco 1% Sharing Foundation, to fund the 'Resource Abundance' project. Since its inception, the initiative has successfully donated thousands of pieces of furniture and supplies. The partnership with the hospital aims to provide a more comfortable environment for soldiers while educating them on the importance of resource recycling.

Beyond material donations, Posco Wide and the hospital plan to jointly conduct campaigns to spread awareness about resource circulation and carbon reduction within the military. They will also collaborate on sharing data and providing consulting services to measure and improve their respective ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) management performance. Posco Wide CEO Kim Won-hee expressed the significance of the partnership, stating it offers a meaningful opportunity to provide a better environment for soldiers while promoting the principles of resource circulation.
