The semiconductor industry is mourning the loss of Huang Chong-jen, the founder of Powerchip Semiconductor Manufacturing Corp. (PSMC), who passed away on July 31 due to cardiorespiratory failure. PSMC announced that a memorial service will be held at the company's office in Taipei from August 5 to August 12. The service will be open by appointment only, allowing friends, colleagues, and partners to pay their respects. The company aims to provide a dedicated space for those wishing to bid a final farewell to their respected chairman.

In a notable gesture of respect and industry solidarity, Morris Chang, the revered founder of Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC), has agreed to serve as the honorary chairman of the memorial committee. PSMC's acting chairman, Hsieh Tsai-chu, expressed the profound shock and grief felt throughout the company. Hsieh shared that he was in the United States discussing business when he received the news, rushing back to Taiwan to manage the situation and communicate with Huang's family and associates.
