Prabowo and Jusuf Kalla hold serious talks at the Palace on national energy development

Former Indonesian Vice President Jusuf Kalla held a significant discussion with President Prabowo Subianto regarding the nation's energy sector and future development.

Because we see that for the country's growth of 5-6 percent to 8 percent, it requires an extraordinary amount of energy. Because without energy, it will be difficult for us to increase that (economic growth).

The meeting, which took place at the Presidential Palace, centered on plans for substantial investment in national energy infrastructure, with figures suggesting an investment of around Rp60 trillion to Rp70 trillion. Kalla highlighted the critical need for increased energy supply to support the government's economic growth targets, which range from 5-6 percent up to 8 percent.

Kalla, accompanied by his son Solihin Kalla, who leads the Kalla Group, conveyed his group's commitment to developing large-scale power generation projects. He mentioned their existing experience with a 1,500-megawatt hydroelectric power plant and expressed willingness to add another 2,000 megawatts, potentially through gas-fired power plants as well.

Therefore, Mr. President (Prabowo) agrees that we should immediately build national energy, especially green energy, to become part of national development.

President Prabowo reportedly endorsed the acceleration of national energy development, with a particular emphasis on green energy, recognizing its importance for long-term economic sustainability. Kalla also noted that discussions touched upon various international issues, though the primary focus remained on energy and its business aspects, given the considerable investment required.
