Prabowo Arrives in Vladivostok to a Warm Welcome from Indonesian Students

President Prabowo Subianto arrived in Vladivostok on Wednesday to take part in Russia’s 11th Eastern Economic Forum as the main guest of honor invited by President Vladimir Putin.

Prabowo landed at Vladivostok International Airport at about 10:45 a.m. local time. Primorye Deputy Governor Said Yusupov and Vladivostok Foreign Relations Minister Konstantin Sidorenko welcomed him at the airport. Indonesia’s ambassador to Russia and Belarus, Jose Antonio Morato Tavares, also attended, along with Moscow defense attaché Air Marshal Budi Susilo and Indonesia’s honorary consul in Vladivostok, Anton Zubkho.

The visit is being presented as part of efforts to strengthen Indonesia-Russia relations, which have expanded across several fields. Prabowo’s role as the forum’s main guest of honor also reflects the close ties between the two countries, according to the report.

The forum is being held at Far Eastern Federal University. Prabowo also attended the Saint Petersburg International Economic Forum as an honored guest in mid-2025, continuing Indonesia’s participation in international economic meetings.

Prabowo and a small delegation departed from Halim Perdanakusuma Air Base on Tuesday night. The delegation included Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto, Foreign Minister Sugiono, Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Bahlil Lahadalia, Higher Education, Science and Technology Minister Brian Yuliarto, Investment Minister Rosan Perkasa Roeslani, and Cabinet Secretary Lieutenant Colonel Teddy Indra Wijaya.
