Prabowo Donates 1,098 Cattle for Eid al-Adha Celebrations

President Prabowo Subianto is donating 1,098 head of cattle to support the upcoming Eid al-Adha celebrations across Indonesia. The sacrificial animals are intended for distribution through various channels to ensure widespread participation in the religious observance.

With 552 areas, namely 38 provinces and 514 regencies/cities, which will receive a total of 598 cattle.

Deputy Minister of State Secretariat Juri Ardiantoro explained that 598 cattle will be allocated to provincial and regency/city governments. While most of the 552 areas will receive one cow, 46 districts and cities will receive two, accommodating those with fewer cattle meeting the presidential standard of 800 kilograms to 1.3 tons. An additional 500 cattle are designated for educational institutions like Islamic boarding schools, along with community and religious leaders.

The cattle are over 2 years old, male, and free of defects. These are premium high-quality cattle.

Ardiantoro assured that the donated cattle are healthy, having passed examinations and received health certificates. They meet Islamic law requirements, being male, over two years old, and free of defects. The cattle are described as premium quality, including breeds like Simmental, Limousin, and Angus, sourced from local breeders to enhance the national livestock sector.

The President's qurban cattle are classified as premium cattle, including Simmental, Limousin, crossbred Ongole, Brahman, Angus, Bali cattle, FH (Friesian Holstein), Belgian Blue, and Charolais.

President Prabowo expressed his hope that Eid al-Adha will serve as a catalyst for the independent development of Indonesia's livestock industry, ultimately aiming to meet the country's domestic beef demand. The initiative underscores a commitment to both religious observance and agricultural self-sufficiency.
