Prabowo, Gibran, Jokowi Watch Air Show at 81st Independence Day

President Prabowo Subianto, accompanied by Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka and former President Joko Widodo, observed a dynamic air show during the 81st Indonesian Independence Day commemoration. The event took place at the Merdeka Palace in Jakarta on Monday morning, August 17, 2026. The three leaders were seen conversing and laughing together while watching the aerial display by the Indonesian Air Force (TNI AU).

The aerial performance was a key part of the independence day festivities. It showcased a variety of aircraft, including fighter jets, transport planes, trainers, and helicopters. Minister Secretary of State Prasetyo Hadi had previously announced that 81 military assets would participate in the air demonstration. Notably, the Rafale fighter jet made its debut appearance in the independence day celebrations.

The air show included a range of TNI AU assets such as the Airbus A400M and CN-295 transport aircraft, Rafale, F-16, Sukhoi 27/30, Hawk 100/200, and T-50i Golden Eagle fighter jets. Various helicopters like the NAS-332 Super Puma, EC-725 Caracal, and EC-120B Colibri, along with training aircraft like the KT-1B Woong Bee and EC-120B Colibri, also participated.
