Prabowo Inaugurates 1,204 IPDN Graduates as Indonesia's New Civil Servants

JAKARTA: President Prabowo Subianto presided over the inauguration of 1,204 graduates from the Institute of Public Administration (IPDN) as Indonesia's newest civil servants. The ceremony, held at the IPDN campus in Jatinangor, Sumedang, West Java, marked the 33rd such event.

During the ceremony on Wednesday, July 29, 2026, Prabowo administered the oath of office and personally congratulated the graduates. He emphasized that their chosen path of public service requires immense dedication to the people, nation, and state, acknowledging it is not an easy choice. "You have chosen to be ready to sacrifice, your body and soul, for the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia," he stated.

President Prabowo stressed the importance of civil servants being present and supportive during times of public hardship. "You must become a beacon of hope, you must be a pillar of support and leadership for the community," he urged the newly appointed officials. He specifically recognized the graduates' recent contributions to disaster management efforts in Aceh, noting their month-long assistance in the region at the end of last year and the beginning of this year.

The inauguration was attended by numerous government officials, including Minister of Home Affairs Tito Karnavian, Coordinating Minister for Political and Security Affairs Djamari Chaniago, and State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi. Also present were the Attorney General, the Chief of the Indonesian National Police, the Commander of the Indonesian National Defense Forces, and the Head of the National Intelligence Agency, alongside several deputy ministers and the Governor of West Java.
